Hokey Pokey Ice cream – This is vanilla ice cream that has round balls of toffee. It rates most years as New Zealand’s most popular ice cream favour. Many brands make this but Tip Top is perhaps the most popular brand.
Feijoa – This fruit is prolific in April & May and has a very unique flavour. If you would still like to experience the taste “out of season”, there are feijoa sweets, feijoa smoothies, sparkling juice, still juice and ice cream on offer in most supermarkets.
L & P – Stands for Lemon & Paeroa. This is a lemon flavoured soft drink (fizzy drink) that was orginally produced in the North Island township of Paeroa.
Cookie Time Cookies & Bars – Found in most convenience stores, gas stations and supermarkets in New Zealand. They are produced just out of Christchurch and go down well with a glass of New Zealand milk.
Pineapple Lumps – A soft and chewy pineapple centre with a chocolate coating. These delicious sweets can be kept in the fridge or freezer for extra chew.
