OPTION 1 - THIRD PARTY ONLY

We offer coverage from 18 years of age.

You do not pay extra for additional drivers.

Policies can be purchased for 3, 6, 9 and 12 month periods.

In case of accident, Third Party Insurance covers accidental damage to property in New Zealand that does not belong to you and/or injury or death of anyone other than you or a family member because of an accident arising out of the use of your vehicle.

This insurance does not cover healthcare expenses resulting from accidents which are covered by ACC, New Zealand’s free accident compensation program (www.acc.co.nz).

For any claim that you make you must pay a NZD$500 excess.  This means that if you caused $50,000 worth of damage you would pay the first NZD$500 and the insurance company would cover the rest.

The maximum limit of liability of any one claim and in the aggregate shall be $1,000,000. QBE Insurance International Limited is the Insurer. They are one of the worlds top 25 insurers.

OPTION 2 - THIRD PARTY FIRE & THEFT

This option includes everything outlined in Option 1: Third Party Only.

It also covers your car if it is stolen or damaged due to fire.

You can claim reimbursement up to NZD$3,500 for any damage to your vehicle. You are still responsible for paying the first NZD$500 of any claim that you make. So if you paid NZD$3,500 for your car and it got stolen, you would get NZD$3,500 less the NZD$500 excess = NZD$3,000.

This option is not available for motorbikes.

WHAT IS AN EXCESS?

When you make a claim you pay a small part of the cost. This is called the “excess” and you pay it every time you make a claim. Your excess on any claim with Travellers Car Insurance is NZD$500. This is less than most other providers, many of whom will have a NZD$1,000 to NZD$1,500 excess.
